McLean Falls, a waterfall of the Tautuku River in Catlins Forest Park, Southland, New Zealand.
My tripod was positioned rather precariously on wet rocks to take this shot, but was totally worth it. I didn’t expect the streaking froth from the waterfall to be so effective in the composition.

In September 2018 I became an Official Sirui Tripods Ambassador and Authorised Reseller. This post outlines which tripods I use and provides some other links showing why I prefer to use this filter brand.
I’m extremely honoured to say that I was announced as the overall winner of the 2018 David Malin Astrophotography Awards in Parkes. I also won first place in the Nightscapes category.
In late September 2017 I visited Alice Springs and the West Macdonnell Ranges. Whilst the unseasonal weather made photography challenging, we had some amazing experiences which proved the outback remains beautiful in whatever conditions you have on your visit.
The Arkaba Walk is a 4 day guided walk through the Flinders Ranges region of South Australia. I left the walk feeling utterly inspired, and these are some of the reasons why.
On July 6th I was invited by telecommunication company Optus to attend an exclusive event at Sydney’s Centennial Homestead. During the event I learned that Optus has been quite busy partnering with National Geographic on a world first mobile app.
